Music Play classes are for children 0-4 years old with their parent or caregiver. This critical window in a child’s musical development is often overlooked but is so important! Music Play classes are extremely beneficial to the musical development of children and absolutely worth the effort of taking your little one out of the house. Also they’re a great way to make new friends.
Groups of up to 10 little ones with their parent or caregiver are immersed in a rich musical environment of songs and chants in a variety of tonalities and meters. The more varied the songs and chants are, the better it is for the child’s musical development.
All songs and chants are performed live and mostly on a neutral syllable so that the children can focus on the music and not get distracted by the words.
We use props to help us move and express ourselves musically such as colorful scarves, beanbags, a large stretchy band, rhythm sticks, egg shakers and puppets.
Silence is used intentionally to give the children space to develop their audiation and also to create musical sounds themselves. These moments of silence may feel awkward to us adults, but they allow us to have musical conversations with the children in this welcoming and inviting atmosphere.
Pricing for an 8 week session is $200.
